The college process provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to actively plan for the future. Searching the internet, attending college fairs, visiting colleges will help you to imagine where you might like to spend the next few years. Next spring you can meet with college representatives and talk with your counselor about what schools might be a good “match” for you. You and your parents need to discuss your expectations as well as financial possibilities for your college education.

It is important to develop a “working” list of schools and to use your summer to visit the schools, find out the academic requirements of a major you might like, take an SAT review course and get a headstart on writing college essays. Don’t procrastinate. The fall of senior year is a very busy time and colleges are reaching their maximum acceptances earlier and earlier.

The college process is about choices and there are choices for every student!
