Great Job Boys!!! FLU SEASON - MDHS/SMS CAMPUS UPDATE Dear Parents:
As we are now in the flu season, we would like to share some information with you that we have received from the Commissioner of Education.
Symptoms of H1N1 include
o Fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, chills and fatigue
o If a child is exhibiting these symptoms, please call the child’s physician and keep the child home from school.
We can limit the spread of influenza by teaching our children the following:
o Wash hands often, especially after coughing or sneezing. Washing with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds is ideal. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer cleaners are also effective.
o Keep their hands away from their face and avoid touching their mouth, nose and eyes.
o Cover coughs and sneezes with tissue or by coughing into the inside of their elbow.
o Stay home when sick.
The toll free H1N1 hotline is 1-866-321-1951 and is available Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5 PM.
Please keep students home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of a fever reducer. Students who have been diagnosed by a physician with H1N1 must have a note from their physician upon returning to school.
St. Mary School has volunteered to be a host site for the dispensing of the H1N1 vaccine. Our parent community will be kept informed as further details become available.
